Week of January 24th

Highlights of the Week

• In Art we have been studying the colour wheel.  We learned about primary, secondary and complimentary colours.  We think you will agree that our work is colourful and stunning!
• We continue to work on writing poetry in Language Arts.  We have read tons of poetry.  We have written cinquain poems, shape poems and free verse poems.  We think that poetry is great.  
• Today,  the Nova Scotian writer Sheree Fitch visited our school at assembly.  She has written many children's books of poetry.
• We are also working on another bitstrip.  We are researching and writing about Healthy Choices we can make for our minds and bodies.
• In Math we are working on regouping for addition.  We are continuing to practice our addition facts to 20.
• Grace won the Legion award today in assembly. 
• Our class won two awards!!  We won Dayn's Clean Classroom Award and we won the Class of the Month Award!  We are thrilled about our awards.
• Marble is going home with Keegan for the weekend.
• Joel was today's Virtue Fish draw winner from our class.
